As 2009 comes to a close, we thought you might be interested in a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the next few weeks:
Broadcast results integrated with News results
Right now, your TV monitoring hits reside in a separate result set from the rest of your News monitoring hits. As of January 1st, TV monitoring hits will be integrated with your News results. It’s now a single click and a one-stop-shop for all your results – news, and Broadcast. You’ll have a better overall picture of your coverage each day, regardless of medium.
Transcript and video player in a single page; simplified TV navigation
Until January 1st, viewing TV results is a 4-step process: view Transcript, view Video, Save to Folder, Download. You couldn’t skip steps, even if you knew your ultimate destination was the Download function. A few things are changing as of January 1st:
- A video player will appear at the top of the Transcript view page. This integrates these functions and eliminates one of the steps above. There will also be a single price for this new view.
- Saving the “Peek” information to a Folder will be available for free. Again, this will allow you to create richer, more complete Media Analysis reports. Please note that charges will apply for viewing Transcripts and Video clips. There is also a fee applicable for sharing TV content with colleagues.
- You will no longer be “re-charged” for viewing the same clip more than once, whether or not you save it to a F0lder.
- You will be able to jump right to the “Share” or “Download” steps directly from the transcript/video page.
Add links to external content to your Saved/Shared Folders
Although FPinfomart covers over 4,500 news sources across almost all media, we know that there is additional content available online that you’d like to incorporate into your Newsletters, your Media Analysis Reports, and your monitoring activities. To assist you, we’ll be offering the ability to add information about, and a link to, non-FPinfomart content to your Saved Folders. You’ll be asked to categorize the content on some data points such as geography, Tone, medium, etc., so that we can help you build accurate reports.
Importing content can be performed by clicking a link within your Folders, or, even more conveniently, by using a bookmarklet.
We’ll provide more details about this exciting feature when it launches in early January.
More details about all of these changes will be posted here early in January.
