(Automated) News Flash: New automated newsletter publisher now available!

Posted by Jennifer Stein on December 15, 2010

We recently showed you a sneak peek of our automated newsletter publisher functionality.  I’m excited to announce that this new feature is now live!  If you already have access to our Newsletter Publisher, you’ll be able to create automated newsletters effective immediately.

As mentioned in the earlier post on this topic, our automated newsletter adds several convenient features to the existing Newsletter Publisher functionality:

  • Ability to include Personal Profiles and Managed Profiles in the delivery (in addition to Folders)
  • Set a primary and optional secondary delivery schedule (such as Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m. AND Sat/Sun at 10:00 a.m.)
  • Automated delivery to your end-users at these scheduled times – with no additional steps
  • Ability to “override” the schedule and push a manual delivery (due to late-breaking news, etc.)

In addition, we’ve added several features to all newsletter types (both automated and manual), including several more formatting options, a delivery report, the ability to change the issue title during the “Send” process, “click to open in a browser” link,  and more.

You can convert any newsletter from manual to automated and back again at any time.

We hope this new functionality will take one more daily to-do off your plate!

More display options are now offered for all newsletters, allowing you to customize the appearance of the content in the output.

Social Media as a playground for like minds

Posted by Jennifer Stein on December 8, 2010

A handshakeWe spend a lot of time in the business world thinking of social media in “adversarial” or “defensive” mode – competitive intelligence; handling customer inquiries and complaints; and issues management.

I’m at a conference this week and it has reminded me that we shouldn’t forget another important business use-case for social media:  a tool for finding and collaborating with colleagues far and wide.

Your job may be unique, and so may be your company and its business processes.  But SOMEWHERE in the world, someone (and maybe several people) are doing some of the same things as you.  They experience the same challenges; they hold the same expertise; and they have the same interests.

Use social media to locate these individuals, and connect.  Follow them on Twitter.  Read their blogs.  Connect on LinkedIn.  Establish a social relationship, and you’ll find resources that you wouldn’t have been able to access in the past.

While it remains critical to monitor social media for strategic business reasons, it is just as valuable to get involved, on a personal professional level, and engage with others in your field.

Slides From our Recent Radio Monitoring Open House

Posted by Jennifer Stein on December 6, 2010

radio towerThanks to all of you who attended our recent Radio Monitoring Open House sessions.  We had some great questions, and I believe it was informative for all participants.

Although our open house included live demo portions, I’ve inserted screenshots where possible into the slides I used during the presentation.  I’ve also embeded a couple of relevant video tutorials from our YouTube channel where appropriate.  I’m pleased to offer these slides for you to view at your convenience [Powerpoint slideshow].

You may also want to check out these previous blog posts, both of which include an embedded video tutorial.

If you weren’t able to attend our open house sessions, you’ll be able to find most of the information we covered by checking out these slides and the video tutorials cited here.
