The Oscar nominees were announced this week, and “The King’s Speech” was the clear leader with 12 nominations, including its lead actor, Colin Firth. Mr. Firth has found critical acclaim in the past. Locate a review of one of his previous films (NOT “The King’s Speech”).
What film was reviewed in the article you found?
What was the reviewer’s opinion of Mr. Firth’s performance?
What was the reviewer’s opinion of the film as a whole?
Give a citation for your answer (headline, publication name, and date).
(bonus) – if you’ve seen this film, do you concur with the reviewer?
We’ve been in the media monitoring business pretty much since it went online – our business dates back to 1986. Whether you’ve been with us from the days of scissors and faxes, or are newer to the idea of Media Monitoring, we want to hear what “media monitoring” means to you.
Got more to share? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
I’m regularly asked to comment on the usefulness of the Influence metric as it pertains to social media. Although I can define “Influence” as it is measured through FPinfomart Heartbeat, it is even more instructive to see a real-world (or virtual-world, as the case may be) example of how Influence affects the reach and velocity of a conversation.
“So add this finding to your hashtag playbook: getting a great hashtag in front of the right audience is more important than getting it in front of a big audience. Katy Perry’s 5.2 million followers saw #LessAmbitiousMovies, laughed, and moved on. Lizz Winstead and Barracks O’Bama’s crew of 35,000 saw it—and they made it their own.”

Last week was so busy we didn’t have a chance to post the weekly scavenger hunt in its usual Friday slot! But don’t despair – here is a special Monday edition.

We’re all familiar with the Boomtown Rats’ famous song, “I Don’t Like Mondays,” and the classic “Manic Monday” by the Bangles. Search the FPinfomart Archives for a mention of another song with “Monday” or “Mondays” in its title.
Love it or hate it, Monday is never far away...
What is the title of the song you found?
Who is the artist?
Give a citation for your answer (Headline, Publication name, date)
(bonus) Post a link to the song from YouTube (or other publicly-accessible online source).
The third entry in our Back to Basics series focuses on a premium subscription product called Managed Profiles. Managed Profiles are an enterprise-wide managed monitoring solution. If you’re looking for a better way to manage a complex set of search criteria and easily disseminate the results to a wide audience in your organization, Managed Profiles may be the solution you’re seeking.
Earlier this year, we announced the new e-mail address for our helpdesk. The final step in our transition away from @canwest.com e-mail addresses is to change the e-mail addresses used to send you e-mails from FPinfomart.ca.
There are several functions on our site that send out e-mails, for example:
Morning e-mail
Alerts
Newsletter Publisher
E-mail an article function from multiple document selection
Other automatically-generated messages
Those of you with strict anti-spam software on your e-mail servers may have had to manually “whitelist” some or all of these e-mail addresses, as certain mail servers can reject auto-generated e-mails. If this applies to you, we ask that you add the following list of e-mail addresses to your personal and/or corporate mail whitelists (the purpose of each should be self-explanatory):
fpinfomart.morningmail@fpinfomart.ca
fpinfomart.alerts@fpinfomart.ca
fpinfomart.newsletters@fpinfomart.ca
fpinfomart.articles@fpinfomart.ca
fpinfomart.noreply@fpinfomart.ca
We will be changing to these new e-mail addresses mid-day on Thursday, January 13, 2011.
Please note that all @canwest.com. e-mail addresses will cease to function as of February 28, 2011. Please check your contact records and ensure you have our new addresses! Contact our helpdesk if you need assistance.
The Automated Newsletter Publisher functionality was released shortly before the holidays. Our newest video tutorial demonstrates how to set up an Automated Newsletter. I recommend watching the video even if you are a “manual” newsletter user, as the setup interface has changed slightly.
